The following UPenn / Wharton interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!

We were all nervously sitting outside talking amongst each other before they called 6 people into a room for the team-based interview. There were two second-year students who were part of the admissions team who conducted our team-based interview. After reading the prompt and going through some general directions they started the clock. 35 minutes to discuss everyone’s idea and come to an agreement on the next leadership venture for the McNulty Leadership Program.

I know they said to prepare a minute speech on your idea… well it’s not super rigid. You can go 15-20 seconds over. No big deal…

Overall our team dynamics were great. Just act as you would in a normal team, don’t be a jerk, try to engage folks who are soft-spoken, be a nice person. That’s it. My experience was quite fun. So just have a good time.

The 1-1 was fairly chill. About 12 mins. I had built it up to be something tense, but it really wasn’t. I was interview by one of the second year students. The questions were as follows:

  1. What did you think of the team-based interview?
  2. Is that your typical working style in teams?
  3. When is a time you’ve failed at something? (he was looking for a professional experience example)
  4. Why XX industry?
  5. Why MBA and Why Wharton?
  6. Do you have any questions for me?

All the best to you!
