HBS Managing Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Chad Losee

A couple of weeks ago, with the September 6th Round 1 application deadline for Harvard Business School (HBS) drawing near, Chad Losee, managing director of admissions and financial aid, took to his Direct from the Directors Blog to provide a few bits of guidance to those busily working on their applications.

“We won’t read any applications until after the noon EST deadline,” he wrote, adding that means there is no advantage to submitting earlier.

While we take him at his word that his team is not going to begin reviewing any applications that come in before the deadline, those of us at Clear Admit would still urge you to upload at least a few hours before the deadline if at all possible. It’s just not worth the stress—and potential server overloads or other delays—to leave it to the very last moment.

Recommendations are also due at noon EST on the 6th, Losee notes. “But, we get it…and we keep the access open for recommenders for a few more days,” he says.

Updates on interview plans will follow in a few weeks, Losee adds.

In other news, incoming MBA students are moving in on campus this weekend, and Losee will post the final Class of 2019 profile next week. And class visits are now open for those applying in a later round or just beginning their research for a future year. “Come see the case method in action!” he encourages.
