The following UPenn / Wharton MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

I arrived 15 minutes and there were already a lot of students in the waiting area for our interview slot. You check-in with your resume and the women at the front desk will give you a run down of the day e.g. class visits, lunch time (if your TBD is before lunch), campus tour etc. I chatted it up with a few people just to break the ice before starting the TBD. At the scheduled time, the second year admissions fellows will call your name and lead you and 5 other candidates into a small room to do the TBD.

Once everyone is seated, you’ll do quick intros (name, industry and intended major) and then the second year fellows will read the prompt. You have 35 minutes to work together to come up with a plan for a post pre-term activity. You should kick it off with everyone giving their ~ 1 minute presentation of their ideas. My group members all had very similar ideas and we were able to work together pretty easily. We spent 25 minutes coming up with a schedule, 5 minutes refining the idea and then the final 5 presenting to the second year students. Overall, it’s very relaxed and as long as you don’t have any very controlling people in the group it should be an enjoyable experience.

After the TBD you’ll spend 10 minutes with one of the second years who observed the discussion. My interviewer only asked me why MBA and then why Wharton. We didn’t talk about the TBD or anything else. She allotted the rest of the time for me to ask her questions which I did. Very relaxed portion of the interview. The most surprising thing was how casual and really uninformative (for the school) this portion of the experience was.
