The interview started on a very good note where the second-year student introduced himself and set the tone and format for the interview. it was going to be a conversational interview where he would want me to walk him through my CV, answer his specific questions about my understanding of the Duke Fuqua MBA, answer his questions on leadership and teamwork, ask any questions that I had.

The questions that were asked were (After I walked him through my CV and clarified why MBA):
1. What resonated with me about Duke Fuqua?
2. What do I think is the most important quality a leader should possess?
3. What is the one feedback that I gave to a junior at work that in retrospect I should not have given? (I believe this was more of a reflection question to check if I have followed the progress of a junior who I have provided feedback to and whether I have been self-critical if need be.)
4. What is my style of leadership?

I think question 3 really stumped me. It made me really understand that school really values its values. Question 3 was actually a question that would help the interviewer understand if I reflected on my life after I read about the school’s philosophy on ‘Leaders of Consequence.’

I think the school is a close-knit community that really values people who understand the values of the school and take them very seriously.
