Interview was conducted over Zoom with an alumnus who was in the same time zone (United States East Coast). Interviewer had reviewed my resume and had a few questions about my experience. Most questions centered around why MBA/why now/why LBS and how I work in a team (How do I handle conflict? Have I worked with international clients?). Interview was overall relaxed and I got along well with my interviewer. This part lasted about 30 minutes.

For about 10 minutes, I was given multiple strategies for a company and asked to pick one and explain why I chose what I did. I was given 5 minutes to prep for the presentation (was allowed to use a paper and pen) and then another 5 to articulate my strategy. I was asked a few follow up questions. The question didn’t require any preparation or business knowledge. I was nervous about this portion going into the interview because I have no business background, but it went over fine. You really don’t need prior business knowledge for this part.

I had about 15 min to ask questions to my interviewer, and I learned a lot about LBS. It was a pleasant conversation and because I was matched with an alum who has a similar career/geographical background as me, I was able to get a sense what the move might be like for me.

I found out in late November that I got accepted! My general advice would be to just relax and treat this like a conversation you would have with a stranger at a networking event. For the presentation portion, make sure to take a minute to organize your thoughts and outline the flow of your presentation. I did this and I think it really helped me sound pulled together.
