There is a quick Video Assessment that covers the main interview. It is a Kira system that some other schools use instead of a typical online interview done by a person (adcom/alumni/ student). It was a 5 question assessment with two mins per question. 30 seconds for prep and rest for answering your questions. During setup, they do give you a mock/warmup questions to get use to the system prior to the actual 5 questions.

Questions I got were typical MBA interview questions; nothing stood out.

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Long-/short-term goals?
  • Why now?
  • Describe a time you helped someone.
  • Describe a time you failed.

The whole thing can be weird since you are recording your response and not getting any feedback. Biggest takeaway is be brief. Don’t let the timer intimidate you, but be mindful of it since there is a hard cutoff. Nothing after the timer ends will be recorded. So learn to just talk about your main points and the result for your stories.

I, also, did the optional peer interview since I believe it would enhance my packet by having one and I felt comfortable doing these interviews. The peer interview again was like the typical MBA interview. It was done by a second-year student. She was very friendly. After her introduction, she asked the typical (Tell me about yourself, Why MBA, Why Now, Why McCombs). Afterwards we talked about her recruiting and planned post-MBA path. Overall, compare to the Video Assessment, being able to look at someone and seeing their body language while talking made interview way less stressful.
