Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
As the companies I founded grew in complexity and resources, I realised that I needed to develop my own skills to match that growth and become the best leader I could be. Trial and error alone was not fast enough to get me to the level of strategic thinking and execution I aspired to. I therefore spent a year formalising the companies’ leadership structures so they could sustain themselves in my absence, and once that foundation was in place, I was ready to take the leap into an MBA.
Why did you choose Cambridge Judge? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
At first, I was drawn to Cambridge’s reputation and its strong focus on developing entrepreneurs and technologists, which led me to apply. Later, I was impressed by the level of commitment shown during the interview process, especially the fact that faculty members themselves conduct the interviews. I ultimately solidified my decision after experiencing the university’s engagement in the pre-interview events and their clear dedication to building a community among applicants and future alumni. Compared to other top programs, it became clear to me that Cambridge has its priorities straight and deeply understands its role as both enabler and educator. They succeed when we succeed, and they spare no effort in helping us do so.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2025?
I believe my most valuable contribution to the Class of 2025/6 will be the combination of deep, reflective thinking and a proven track record of execution. I approach almost every aspect of life with a philosopher’s curiosity, which allows me to frame challenges from fresh perspectives and uncover original solutions. At the same time, I am unwaveringly committed to seeing projects through to success, which has required resilience and level-headedness in times of uncertainty and pressure. This balance of creative problem-solving and disciplined execution has shaped a unique set of skills and experiences that I can bring into the classroom. Beyond ideas, I can contribute real-life perspectives drawn from leading and building companies, enriching discussions with practical lessons that complement academic frameworks.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
I went mountain gorilla tracking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where after a full day of searching we found a family that included a majestic silverback and spent an unforgettable hour observing and interacting with them.
Post-MBA career interests:
As my companies I lead continue to grow, and as my portfolio of angel investments expands, my goal is to be the most capable mentor, advisor, sparring partner, and board director I can be. I want to live in Guatemala City and bring world-class knowledge to every company I’m involved in helping them get organized, design effective incentives, build strong systems, optimize legal structures and develop leadership. My objective is to help each business reach its full potential while building a reputation as the trusted partner founders call when they want to think bigger and execute better.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
I would absolutely work with experts for standardised tests, language exams, and applications. I first tried managing the process on my own, but once I worked with experts, the difference was staggering.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
Had it been possible, I would have preferred to visit the universities in person to make my final decision and to choose the best place to live in the city.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
The GMAT of course, but with discipline, patience, and a proper coach, it can be achieved.
What is your initial impression of the Cambridge Judge students/culture/community?

The experience has been incredibly energising even before the first term begins.
