The following UT Austin / McCombs interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!

Interview was with a second-year student in the MBA Program Office on campus. Make sure to be a little early because interviewers all came out calling prospective applicants’ names a little early or exactly on time.

It was a blind interview, the second-year student had my resume open on a laptop during the interview. Interview was pretty relaxed and conversational, but the interviewer had a piece of paper with questions on one half and filled in my responses as I answered the questions. Said it was to help remember what I said. Questions were pretty straightforward and typical.

1. Tell me about yourself / go through your résumé
2. Why MBA now?
3. What are your short-term / long-term goals?
3. Why UT McCombs?
4. How do you plan on contributing to McCombs?
5. Tell me about a situation where you solved a problem.
6. Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a teammate or supervisor and how did you respond
7. Left about 10 minutes for me to ask questions at the end.

Interview lasted about 45 minutes. I was a little surprised by how structured the interview was, the interviewer simply followed the questions listed on the paper and filled in the answers. But all the second-year students I met are very proud of UT McCombs and love living in the Austin area.
