The following NYU / Stern interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 MBA applicant. Good luck to them!
Interviewed in mid December, almost a month after initial interview invite. Interview was held on Stern campus in the Kaufman center, on the 6th floor. The office is a standard admission set up – receptionist, coffee table, and a closet to store coats/bags. They hand you a customized packet with info from Stern, and a T shirt (from small to large) that says IQ + EQ.
Interview was conducted in the office of the adcom, very standard interviewer and interview. She knew my application inside and out and were interested in knowing about why stern:
1. What can Stern help you achieve your short term and long term goals?
2. How will you take advantage of the resources?
3. Tell me about yourself (first question).
4. Tell me about a time when something totally opposite of what you expected happened.
5. Tell me about a typical work day.
6. Why Stern?
7. What is your favorite memory from traveling? (in reference to my application – so definitely know your own application!)
As this was done before holidays, I don’t expect to hear back till next year. She did say standard time of 2-3 weeks.
