UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus

Interviewed in the afternoon with a second-year student. I waited in the lobby with 10-15 other interviewees and was the first to be taken to one of the “learning team” rooms to be interviewed.

Questions were mostly as expected. My interviewer laid out the interview and explained that it was a completely blind interview (my interviewer had not even seen my resume).

  1. Spend 25 minutes telling me about yourself – where you’re from, your professional background, why you want an MBA, and why you want to come to Darden. (My interviewer guided me through this process by restating some of these questions, but it was mostly me talking.)
  2. What are three words that you would use to describe your leadership style?
  3. How will you contribute as a student at Darden?
  4. What do you do for fun?
  5. What questions do you have for me?

My interviewer was straight-faced throughout my initial monologue, which was a little disconcerting as I tried to gauge their interest in what I was saying. Otherwise the interview was about what I expected and had read about Darden interviews.
