Did you apply to Harvard Business School in Round 1? Get ready for some big application news from the school on Tuesday, October 6th at noon EST. In a post to the Direct from the Director’s blog, Managing Director of HBS admissions Chad Losee wrote that Round 1 applicants can expect the following:

“In your application status page, you will hear one of three things:

  • Invite to interview – this is good news!
  • Further consideration – Also positive! This is a small group of strong applicants that we ask to wait with us until Round 2, at which point we will review your application again. More info on this process will be shared with you directly if you receive “further consideration” news.
  • Early release – unfortunately we are not able to move you forward in the process. Our hope is by letting you know this news early on in the process you can move forward with other plans.”

These planned updates land exactly four weeks after the program’s Round 1 deadline of September 8th. Losee also reminded applicants that interviews will be hosted virtually this year.

Of course, MBA LiveWire will light up on that Tuesday with applicants reporting their invites. And if there are any snags or delays in the release, reports of those will surely surface on LiveWire as well. You could choose—optimistically—to spend your waiting time preparing for an interview. The Clear Admit HBS Interview Guide can give you an important head start. It’s packed with vital, up-to-date interview preparation guidance, including commonly asked questions and advice on how to form strategy around the post-interview leg of the process.

And as always, remember that the Clear Admit Interview Archive also offers a repository of applicant-submitted details about the interview process.

Best of luck!
