Berkeley Haas Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Google Meets
My interview was mostly school-specific, with some behavioral questions. I think it was supposed to be resume-based, but he didn’t ask much about it. It was extremely conversational and there was good rapport. Lasted for an hour, but we were done with questions for me after 35. The questions (may not be exact, but the gist should be there) included: (Notably, did not ask me to walk him through my resume, which threw me off big time since I had to work it in a bit as I talked about why an MBA/why Haas?) Why an MBA? Why

Georgetown McDonough Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / First-Year Student / Zoom
Resume-based interview with first-year student. Interview was very conversational with the following questions: Why Georgetown McDonough? Why MBA? Short term and long term goals? Talk about your leadership style. Still awaiting admissions decision, which will be released in mid-March. Interview was conversational with a handful of prepared questions and the interviewer was able to share about the program and the clubs/organizations offered on campus. Was surprised by how many “Centers” on policy and business offered by McDonough as a partnership between students/faculty and business leaders. Notably the Center for Financial Markets and Policy has still been very

Yale SOM Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Interviewed with a 2Y student. Very casual but structured, lasted about the 30 minute mark. He told me that the questions are predetermined. 1. I won’t ask you to go through the whole resume, maybe choose one professional experience where you succeeded at something and talk about what the outcome was. 2. Next question that I have for you is around broad mindedness. So, a lot of the recruiters often tell us that SOM graduates lead by knowing not only when to speak, but also by knowing when to listen. So if you could tell me about a professional experience

Chicago Booth Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview was conversational like all the other reports. I suspect the Booth interviews vary a bit depending on who you get as the interviewer. I was expecting more questions around “Why MBA, Why Booth, Goals etc.” from the other reports, but the majority of the interview time (30+mins) was spent on behavioral questions in my case. About 10mins was spent on Why MBA, Why Booth etc. and there was some time in the end for my questions. Questions that I can recall (not necessarily in this order. There was time spent on follow up questions & comments): -Interviewer

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Interviewed in the Round 1 cycle via zoom by a second-year student. Overall, the interview was fairly laid back because of the student’s personality, but it was very structured. He read from a list of questions that seemed to have been prepared in advance by the admissions office, and took time to type answers to many of my questions. Most questions were basic, including the following: – Tell me about yourself. – Why an MBA? – Why now? – Why McCombs? – What are your short and long term goals? – Tell us about a

NYU Stern Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Adcom / Zoom
The total length of the interview went on for more than an hour. I had a serendipitous situation because I had met my interviewer at an AHBBS/ Admissions event last weekend. The tone of the interview was very conversational. Adcom had read my entire application already and the conversation started with some personal questions about my background regarding my You Pick 6. I was asked to highlight to experiences in my resume. I was asked Why Stern. Since she had read my short-term plan in the application essays, she asked me what my plan B for recruitment

I think Haas is very intentional about creating this sort of environment to get the best out of interviewees. The interview had a lot of behavioral questions. Below is a list that I remember. Why Haas? What do you want out of business school experience? DEI experience Clubs you’re interested in? What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken professionally? Led a team

The interview was conversational and resume-based and lasted for about 40 minutes. The interviewer, who is based in my country, was about 10 minutes late, so the interview didn’t start as smoothly as I was hoping it to start, but I remained calm and understood the situation as life happens. Other than that, the interviewer was pleasant, smart and given their impressive career in two different sectors (consulting and entrepreneurship), had some insights to offer at the end of the “official part” of the interview. The experience was positive and casual, although it was clear that the interviewer was having

The atmosphere was conversational and I found that it was helpful to be interviewed by someone from the same industry since they understood the industry culture and context without too much additional explanation.
