The Bloomberg Businessweek 2026-2027 Best Business School rankings, covering programs spanning the U.S., Europe & the Middle East, Asia-Pacific region, and Canada, are live. This year, the organization has cut inclusion, which was weighted 6%, from the scoring; the value has been redistributed to the other indexes, which include networking, learning, compensation and entrepreneurship.

U.S. Results: Bet on Stanford GSB

Here is a quick glance at this year’s U.S. top 10 (with 2025-26 rankings in parentheses).

Since 2018–with the exception of suspended rankings in 2020 due to Covid–Stanford GSB has topped the U.S. list, also leading in Networking and Entrepreneurship again. The Wharton School holds onto the second spot while HBS moved up from #4 last year to #3 this year. Northwestern Kellogg also advanced one spot to #4. The biggest positive shift in the top 10 U.S. schools can be seen with UVA Darden, leapfrogging several programs from #10 last year to #5 this year. Dartmouth Tuck and Chicago Booth maintain their positions at #6 and #7, respectively, followed by a slide from Berkeley Haas from #3 to #8. Cornell Johnson and MIT Sloan round out the top ten, tied at #9.

Outside of the U.S. top 10, there were some notable shifts:

  • Vanderbilt Owen gained 10 places moving from #27 to #17.
  • Columbia fell from #9 to #11, leaving the top 10.
  • Duke Fuqua fell five spots, from #13 to #18 this year.
  • Yale School of Management regained some ground, moving from #17 to #12.
  • Brigham Young Marriott was highlighted for entrepreneurship and moved up six spots from #35 to #29.

European & Middle Eastern Results: IMD Displaces SDA Bocconi

Here is a look at this year’s European top 10 (with 2025-26 rankings in parentheses).

Ranking European and Middle East Schools
1 IMD (2)
2 SDA Bocconi (1)
3 IE Business School (7)
4 St. Gallen (8 tie)
5 IESE Business School (3)
6 London Business School (4)
7 INSEAD (5)
8 Oxford Saïd Business School (6)
9 Mannheim (8 tie)
10 Esade (10)

In the 2026-2027 Europe and Middle East Bloomberg BusinessWeek Best Business Schools ranking, IMD in Switzerland rose to #1, displacing last year’s #1, SDA Bocconi. Just as the top two saw a shuffle, most of the top ten did as well. IE Business School and St. Gallen made significant gains, moving to #3 and #4, respectively. IESE slipped slightly from #3 to #5, and London Business School lost the same amount of ground, sliding to #6. INSEAD and Oxford also lost two spots, landing at #7 and #8, respectively. Mannhein and Esade round out the top 10 from the European and Middle East rankings, maintaining their positions from last year.

A note on methodology. Bloomberg Businessweek surveys graduating students, recent alumni, and companies that recruit MBAs for their U.S. business school ranking. Alumni (Classes of 2018, 2019, 2020) are weighed at 40%; graduating students (Class of 2026) at 25%; and recruiters at 35% (hiring between 2023 and 2025). The surveys are designed to index four key components of a U.S. business school education: compensation, learning, networking, and entrepreneurship. The rankings weigh each index according to the survey respondents, asking students, alumni, and recruiters which aspects of their business school experience mattered most. The indexes for U.S. schools this year were calculated as follows: compensation, 40.6%; learning, 26.6%; entrepreneurship, 11.4%; networking, 21.3%.
